WORD FROM THE COACHES

We had a big week last week with Time Trials. Well done to everyone who logged their times.  Don’t be disappointed if you didn’t hit your goal time as we don’t expect you to this early in your training. The first time trial of the year is just a starting point for your training over the coming week/s. Be certain to speak with a coach if you are unsure or would like some additional feedback, otherwise next time trials are in 6 weeks time which will give us a good indication of how you are progressing. Full results have been posted and can be found in the members area of our website.

This Thursday we have our first ATHLETE TEAM MEETING for the season. We highly encourage all athletes to attend and we will cover areas such as: Outline of training program and training principles, our winter training timetable, training and program changes/improvements for the upcoming season, break out groups for specific athletes: Beginners, Short Course, Half Ironman, Ironman, Q&A panel with our Coaches. Finger food and drinks provided. RSVP’s Essential: Click to RSVP

WEEKEND GROUP RIDES
As the season progresses, it is timely to remind athletes that our Group rides on the weekend will not be specifically coached. The purpose behind group rides as we progress through the season is to develop your base endurance and strength simply by putting kilometres in your ‘bike legs’. Each Saturday we will have a Coach who specifically takes a 2 hour beginner/low intermediate ride that will be coached and guided with group riding and bike skills taught. Intermediate and advanced riders will be provided with their ride details, locations and coaching instructions, however are expected to ride to their own abilities and start work with athletes of a similar level to complete the designated ride.
So ensure you continue to read below in each week’s newsletter for ride details, and on the morning make sure you attend the ride briefing so you have full details and can be placed with other riders if you are unsure or new to the group.
If you have any concerns please ensure you call the office to chat. 9645 2223.

MELBOURNE MARATHON | HALF MARATHON
