WORD FROM THE COACHES

What an amazing and emotional Tri Alliance End of Season Presentation Night in the beautiful and picturesque venue at The Baths Middle Brighton to celebrate the achievements of our athletes during the 2013/2014 Triathlon Season. A lot of planning and organising goes into events like this and it was great to see 120 athletes, friends and family come together and celebrate these achievements. Click here to read about our night, the award winners, Andy’s emotional acceptance speech for the JC Award and most importantly – pictures from the night! Thanks to everyone for making it such a memorable night!

Now – back to training! The first few weeks of training can always be the hardest. After enjoying some time off and plenty of sleep-ins, getting back into a routine is often harder than you thought it would be. Setting the alarm for those early morning sessions – how easy it is to turn over when the alarm goes off?! Your first race is still so far away, it’s cold and wet outside, missing one session now won’t matter right? Wrong!

Motivations

By allowing yourself to get into bad habits now will mean you are setting yourself up for bad habits all year. So start each week by committing yourself to your set sessions for the week. Keep the volume and number of sessions realistic (notice how we program only 2 sessions of each discipline each week to begin with?) this is planned specifically to allow you to ease back into your routine and set those habits early in the piece. Get that set now, and it will be a lot easier later on. Remember – it’s all about consistency. You don’t have to attend every session, but you do have to have consistency. Set that from the start and we can guarantee you will get results.

DMC Swim Fins
You would have heard Head Swim Coach Ryan speak about these fins – they are recommended to all our swimmers and are far supierior to any other fins on the market. We are currently taking pre orders and will be placing an order shortly so you can get your hands on these for training. Click for more details and to order.
