WORD FROM THE COACHES
Well it seems like a lifetime ago already that we were in the US experiencing some of the biggest races on the Long Course Calendar. But now, back in Melbourne the Season has really begun and that’s what we have been waiting for all winter! To see our athletes shine in their chosen races. As coaches – there is nothing more satisfying than seeing athletes cross the finish line, no matter what distance race they are competing in.

For some athletes however, races don’t always go to plan. Noosa weekend Pro Tri Alliance Athlete Renee Lane had her first hit out in the MurrayMan in SA. Her race didn’t pan out how we had trained and how we had planned, but on the positive side we took some valuable lessons from the race and will use those for the big one in Busselton.

Also at the MurrayMan, Tri Alliance had new Online Coached athlete Tim French race in the 25-29year old category and for someone who was previously self Coached, he has been able to take it up a notch under our guidance and have a pretty solid race considering the conditions. Tim knocked out a 4:44hr including a 2:25 ride. And if it wasn’t for a costly mistake on bike (not consuming enough hydration and salts) which caused severe cramping in the run, he was in for a top 5 placing. And Tim has the goods as a 1hr20min Half Marathon runner. So top work Tim, now for a small break and then back down to business as he prepares for a build into a couple more halves and his first Ironman in Port MacQuarie.

So as you embark on your first race/s of the season. Remember not to dwell on what ‘didn’t go right’ in your race, instead use it as a chance to learn and improve. As athletes – you never stop learning, even those who have been in the sport for years. (Just ask Coach Greg!) 🙂 Good luck to everyone racing in the coming weeks – and that would be just about all of you!

TRI ALLIANCE ‘ENTRY LEVEL’ CLOTHING RANGE
We unveiled our ‘Elite Rocket Science’ Race Suit range in Noosa and what an impact it made! We will be doing another order very soon – so stay tuned if you missed the first order.
Unfortunately however, due to circumstances out of our control, our ‘entry level’clothing range will not be delivered until the second race of the Gatorade Series – early December. We are still confident on having the gear in time for Busselton but will confirm with these athletes as the date comes closer. We sincerely apologise for the delay but we know the wait will be worth it! (And be thankful you won’t be forced to wear what Brett did in Noosa!) 🙂
