WORD FROM THE COACHES

The first training camp for the year was held on the weekend down at Lorne. A great weekend all round with 200 – 400km of riding, 20 to 50km of running and 4 awesome workshops to educate the masses. Well done everyone – see you again next year! Click here to read our Lorne Camp Wrap Up and view pics.

Ironman Training Camp (Long Course Athletes)
Our next training camp is scheduled for Friday 29-Sunday 31 July (only 6 weeks away!). This camp is specifically designed for our long course athletes (half/full ironman distance) so if you are racing long course this year then make sure you lock this camp into your diary. Full details will be available next week.

Winter Specific Programs
This week the first of our Winter Specific Programs commences with our run sessions with Tony Benson. This program sold out very quickly and the 20 athletes are ready to improve their run technique. Next week our Bike Technique commences on Monday 6.30pm at the TA Office and Swim Technique commences Tuesday 7.15pm indoor pool at MSAC. Strength & Conditioning we are still seeking further numbers so if you are keen please email sarah. We look forward to seeing some great results from these programs!

Training Programs
If you have had trouble locating your training program in your online toolkit – the reason is because they have moved! At our last Team Meeting we rolled out our new online training programs – including new features such an videos, pictures and tutorials for drills and technique. So you will now find your programs under: ‘Online Programs’ on the right hand side when you are logged in. (please note social athletes do not have access to programs, if you would like to upgrade to take advantage, please email [email protected]) A full tutorial and help menu will be available in the next month.

Hill / Strength Training
You will notice we are now building in hill running into our training program. Over your first few sessions you will be shown the correct hill run technique first and then we will start to build the distance and effort into these specific sessions to work on your strength.  We will also start to introduce trail runs inlcluding hills on the weekend, so stay tuned for details on these. Click here to read our tips and techniques of hill running.
