TRIATHLON WORLD CHAMPS
The World Champs are this weekend in Auckland and we have a 18 strong representation from Tri Alliance Queensland heading over. They have all been training hard and are ready to mix it up with the best age groupers in the World.
With the World’s Elite also competing in their final race of the season it promises to be a massive few days of racing right in the centre of Auckland.
We have some profiles of everyone competing from Tri Alliance on the website at http://qld.tri-alliance.com.au/tri-alliance-athletes-take-to-the-world-stage-in-new-zealand/
Stay tuned to our facebook page for photos and updates throughout the weekend. Also Mark, Suz and Yas will be in Auckland so will not be on e-mail or phone from tomorrow until Tue 23rd when they return.
All sessions will be on as normal with John, Ray, Brad and the two Tim’s filling in.
BEGINNER COURSE GRADUATION RABY BAY QTS RACE
Congratulations to our latest beginner course who finished their course by racing at Raby Bay on the weekend. They’re already back into training this week as they set some new goals.
Our next course will start on Tue 6th of November and finish with the Raby Bay event on December 16th.
We also had a big crew racing at Raby Bay on the weekend with many podiums and pb’s. Thanks to Todd Gibbons for compiling the results which are now up on the facebook page.
WIND TRAINER HIRE
For our Friday morning wind trainer sessions at the pool we do have trainers available for hire for $5. To hire please e-mail us to confirm availability rather than turn up at the session and not have one available.
TRIATHLON QUEENSLAND SERIES
After race 2 of the Triathlon Queensland series we’re still in the overall lead however our neighbours at Red Dog have made up some ground. With two races remaining it will come down to the wire so we need everyone racing at the next event, the aquathon on the Gold Coast in January.
The current points tally is at http://www.triathlonqld.com.au/Portals/0/Images/Events/State%20Series/CLub%20Champioships/Club-Championships—Overall-Leaderboard.jpg
AMBASSADOR BLOG
Our other Tri Alliance Ambassador Darrell Giles has written a blog about his triathlon journey. Go to http://qld.tri-alliance.com.au/2012/10/17/my-triathlon-journey-darrell-giles/ to find out how Darrell got to this point.
QLD TRI SERIES
The new organisers of the Queensland Triathlon series, the Event Crew have a hard job taking over USM. Considering they only had a couple of months to put together the first race they did a fantastic job.
As always there will be some minor logistical issues to sort out and they welcome any feedback people have. A new organiser brings with it some different ideas and in time people will become used to the changes.
Already entries for the second race at Robina are up, so it also looks like it will sell out. We have some free entries to give away at Robina and will be running some competitions for members of Tri Alliance to receive these entries.
DIRECT DEBIT
With so many big events in the next few weeks some squad members will be taking a break from training. If that is the case please e-mail [email protected] so that your direct debit can be put on hold.
