CONGRATULATIONS TO:
Kathryn Proctor
Brendan Cullen
Mick Ryan
Brett Archbold
Paul Walker
On completing the TriMan Torquay last weekend. Reports were that the swim started over rocks -a two lap course and the 2nd lap converged with the start of another wave so it was very crash and bash! The bike leg had a harsh wind and a rough surface! Yet another tough race conquered.
FURTHER CONGRATS TO
Michael Grau-Veliz – 13 hours 28 minutes, 9th overall! A little sore but stoked and glad it’s over 🙂
Felicity Cumming
Mirco Hering
On completing the grueling 100km walk or run, as it was for Michael, last weekend. The event began at Jells Park in Wheelers Hill and finished at Wesburn Park in the Yarra Valley.
RECOVERY & TRANSITION PHASE
Now in full swing for most of our athletes. You should be enjoying some lighter style training and taking the opportunity to participate in varied activities. Based on your feedback we have created the APRIL TIMETABLE.
This week was our first Boot Camp by Fire Up Fitness
A word on that from one of our athletes – Andrew Wood-Rich
With each Athlete Survey I have responded that I would like to add some circuit and strength training to our sessions.
I used to be with a small training group before joining Tri Alliance and was missing this extra kick.
When boot camp was announced I jumped at it!
Day 1
Warm up – Leg work, hurting already. I thought I was good at this stuff!
Main session – push ups, planks, dips, plyometric leaps and lunge walk (hurting continues)
Boxing – Hurting moves north
Cool down – Touch football = Awesome
Verdict: great work out with two trainers that focussed on correct form and core strength
I’ll be back to hurt some more next Tuesday, but then again, I asked for it
