WORD FROM THE COACHES
We’ve had a great start to our April Transition Timetable, with relaxed session including a bit of fun along the way. Tonight we have the first of our Goal Setting Sessions with Coach Greg and the weekend ahead includes our GIANT Guys Ride and LIV/Giant Girls Only Social Rides on Saturday and our famous 1000 Steps and BBQ Breaky on Sunday with Coach Darren. If you haven’t RSVP’d to either of these events, make sure you click on the links.
Our April 28 Day Tri Challenge started yesterday, with some great footage of athletes in their challenge already posted. So if your not involved, make sure you jump on it. It’s been a great laugh so far, and it’s great to see athletes of all levels challenging themselves while being able to have fun at the same time. Keep it up guys. We’re loving it!

Sessions in the pool this week will be light on, but remember if swimming is your weakness, it will be the first thing that goes when you have time out of the pool. So time to get back in and enjoy some fun sessions in the pool while maintaining some base fitness and ‘feel’ for the water. PLUS learn how to tumble turn! :) You will also meet Coach Chris this week who is one of our Brisbane Coaches who has moved down to Melbourne recently. So make sure you introduce yourself!

CONGRATULATIONS & FAREWELL!!
For those who haven’t heard the good news (or bad news depends on which way you look at it!), 😉 we’d like to firstly congratulate Coach Emma and her hubby Adam on the news they are expecting a little bub early October. We are absolutely thrilled for them both!! And the farewell part? On the other side, they will both be relocating their lives up to the warmth of Brisbane at the end of this month. So Emma will be with us in the office until the last week of April, and then moving her headquarters to Brisbane as part of Adams work. She will be continuing part of her role in Brisbane and we look forward to ‘Team Meetings’ being held up there! 😉
In all seriousness, Emma is a pivotal part of the Tri Alliance team, and we are lucky to have her in both a Coaching role over the years and as our Athlete Support Manager in the office. Any new athlete that comes into our squad will appreciate the effort Emma goes to to help them settle in and make them feel welcome, and our older athletes who seek advice, guidance or sometimes simply a chat and a laugh! So thanks again Emma and we look forward to sharing more of that with you from Queensland!
From Ollie, Sarah and the whole team at Tri Alliance

LAST RACE OF THE MELBOURNE TRI SEASON
An extra race on the calendar for a group of athletes as we joined in the last race of the Team Up Race Series at Mordialloc with our Partners Bicycles Inc, GIANT, LIVGiant and Mizuno. And what a great day our athletes had!! We had around 30 athletes race over the Sprint and Olympic Distance races, and our athletes collected 8 podiums. There were some stand out performances also from those who had great races including Barry Gilbertson and it was great to see some athletes back out races after some time off including Mark McDonnell, Daniel Shap, Daniel Brueckner and Andrew Livingstone. And a few of our IM Melbourne athletes also suited up and got out there. Not a bad effort – although judging by some of their faces, the bodies didn’t like it as much as they would have liked! 🙂
