Starting next Monday night for the following 4 weeks at the Monday swim sessions we will have a technical focus including 2 coaches at both sessions.  By doing this it will allow us to give more technical feedback to the athletes at the session.

Having a couple of coaches at different swim sessions is something we’ll do a few times through out the year.  In addition we will be doing a 6 week swim technique course starting in July.  Details will be released in the coming weeks.

Speed is a product of efficiency in the water and by making a commitment to work on your technique in the pool over a period of time it will pay off next season.  A better swim leads to a stronger bike and then a faster run.  Winter is a perfect time to master some of those technical issues.

Response to the End of Season Party has been great so far.  It should be a great night with some fantastic awards, prizes from our sponsors and a chance to celebrate another fun season.

Tickets are $85 for the 2 course meal and 4 hour drinks package and we encourage members to bring along their partners to the event. The location of the Landing at Kangaroo Point is right on the river.

Payments for the night can be made into the Tri Alliance Social Committee account.  The BSB is 084209 and Account Number 142933818

For anyone wanting to order uniforms or other products such as Shotz nutrition it can be done in the Tri Shop section of the website.  Go to to use the shopping cart and place the order.

Long course triathlons have exploded in popularity over the last 18 months to 2 years.  Gone are the days of entering 2-3 months out with all the IM events in the Australia/New Zealand selling out 12 months in advance.

We have had Tri Alliance Qld members compete at IM events in Busselton, New Zealand, Melbourne and Port Macquarie in the last year.  In a little over 5 weeks we will have over 60 athletes compete in the Cairns IM and 70.3 IM events.

Now Challenge Brand have announced 3 half iron distance events in Melbourne, Batemans Bay and Forster.  Add local events such as the Hell of the West and Hervey Bay 100 and we have a plethora of choices for athletes.

From a coaching/training perspective we will always have a focus towards the Cairns event and now the new Sunshine Coast 70.3 IM in September.  If the demand is there for other events such as it was for Busselton last year then we will allocate extra coaching resources towards those events also.

Members can choose personal programs and coaching consults to assist them in their preparation for their chosen race. Along with our specific long course sessions such as the Thursday morning swim and specific long course sets at the Tuesday morning run, Wednesday morning bike and Friday morning wind trainer we are able to assist our members get ready for their events.

Whilst these long course events are becoming popular we will always have programs around shorter events such as Noosa, Mooloolaba, Byron Bay, World Championship events and the Gatorade series.
