Welcome to our Summer Training Program!

All athletes should have received an email on Monday outlining our new Summer Training Program, timetable and information about our current Pre Competition Phase. If you did not receive this email, please let us know by emailing [email protected]. And if you did receive it, but haven’t read it yet – make sure you do!

Good luck to our Tri Alliance Queensland Coaches and athletes who take on the first race of their Gatorade Series at Raby Bay in Queensland on the weekend. Our Queensland Team has had a fantastic start to the season so far and currently lead the Queensland Club Champs run by TriQLD. So good luck to everyone racing this weekend. We look forward to catching up with everyone in less than 4 weeks in Noosa!

Congratulations to our athletes who completed the final Brooks Duathlon for the season on Sunday. Reports are that it was VERY COLD!!!!!
Jo Stavrou completed her 1st Sprint distance race after a long hiatus in the Greek Islands (great to have her back). Following a solid ride yesterday Xavier smashed out another fine performance and congrats to Geoff who came 1st & Emma 2nd in their respective age groups to notch up more podium finishes before the triathlon season even commences. Exciting times ahead for a lot of our athletes who have shown massive improvements after a consistent pre season campaign.

We will be commencing our Summer training program in October – which means our famous Combo sessions at Elwood. To ensure you are organised, now’s the time to sort our your Elwood Lifesaving Club Membership. For just $85 you will become an associate member of the Club, allowing you to use their facilities (including change rooms and hot showers!) and for a smaller extra fee you will be able to apply for a foreshore parking permit. Which means you can park for FREE! Every year we have athletes who are caught without tickets and a single parking fine is $80+. So make sure you get yourself sorted.

At our first Combo session we will have a representative from the Club to sign off of parking permits. So be prepared and sign up with the Club early!

Congratulations to all our athetes who took on King Lake over the weekend. We hear it was cold but a far cry from the conditions experienced by riders last year! We hope you will be back for this fantastic event next year.

To our Ride Angels thank you for lending your time and support to the event. An extra special thank you to coach Darren for preparing participants in the weeks prior to the big ride. We had some great feedback from the event organisers and participants, all in all another successful event supported by Tri Alliance!

From event organisers SuperSprint “Special shout out to the Tri Alliance Ride Angels for providing fantastic on-course support and encouragement at the Genovese Kinglake Ride today. Much appreciated by the team at SuperSprint. Thanks guys & gals!”

We also had some great feedback from athletes on facebook:

Isaac G. Dowell: “Had a pretty good ride with darren for about 20 odd k, if you are reading this good luck at shepp!”

Annemarie Cooke: “Big thank you to Darren for all the hill training, I made it up the 7k climb much faster than expected & without much pain! Didnt get to see the TA angels as we arrived a bit late and started 15 mins aft the last group! I hear they did a great job though!”

Only a few more sleeps until the start of the 2012 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and the atmosphere is really starting to build. You walk out your front door and the road and footpaths are covered with athletes. The Ocean is awash with arms and legs practicing over the swim course and the cafe’s full.

The Hawaii Ironman World Championship Age Groupers will kick off at 4am Melbourne Time. You can track their progress using the app Irontrac.
