TRI ALLIANCE QUEENSLAND LAUNCH – MIZUNO TRI ALLIANCE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Our official launch night on Sunday September 16th at the Melbourne Hotel is gathering momentum.  Invites are out and the RSVP’s are still coming in for what will be a great night. Let us know you’re coming by responding to the invite on the Tri Alliance Queensland facebook page.

All our sponsors will be there with numerous random draws being conducted on the night. Everything from Mizuno shoes, free race entries to the Gatorade series, bags and massages will be among the prizes been given away.

Stay tuned also for details around our new Mizuno Tri Alliance Ambassador program that will be awarded to a male and female athlete within the squad for the 2012/13 season. They will receive free gear from Mizuno, free Tri Alliance clothing and free product from Shoes Feet Gear. All up it will be around $1500 worth of training gear for the season.

A special e-mail with application forms will be sent out later in the week with the winners awarded on the night by Mizuno.

TRIATHLON QUEENSLAND CLUB CHAMPS

After the first race of the series we are in first place with a healthy lead on second.  The second race of the series, the Moreton Bay Triathlon is on September 23rd at Pelican Park, Redcliffe.

For anyone that competes on the day we’ll have a random draw to give away a free pair of Mizuno shoes valued at $200.  The social committee are organising another bbq for after the race so it would be great to have as many out there racing so we can maintain our lead.

For athletes heading to Worlds, Noosa and Busso it is perfectly timed to give you a good hit out and test your fitness.  There is an event set up on the Tri Alliance Qld facebook page to let us know you’re coming.  As always family and friends are welcome to come to the tent to watch all the action.

BEGINNER COURSE

We would like to welcome our latest group of beginners who started yesterday morning with a run at Southbank.  Ray took them through their paces in the first of the run sessions that will help them in 6 weeks at Raby Bay.

Their next session is bike skills on Thursday morning with Brad before a bike maintenance session on Saturday morning at Cyc’d for Bikes, Norman Park.

TRAINING

Winter is behind us and we’re into Spring which also means our major races for 2012 are almost upon us.  For those targeting Noosa and Worlds we’re into the interval stage now after a long strength block while our long course athletes are still in their strength block.

On the weekend is our last Coot-tha trail run with the two Tim’s and on Sunday morning the long course athletes are doing the 4 mountains ride of Cootha, Nebo, Glorius, Mee and back to Coot-tha loop.

The Coast athletes will be working on the bike to run transitions with a fast paced cycle/run brick at Paradise Point. The session will start from the carpark on the right hand side before you head over the bridge to Ephraim Island.

It has been great to see some familiar faces back at training this month and there is definitely the feeling of Spring in the air. We are keeping track of numbers in the pool and if we get large numbers again this Monday night we will be splitting the sessions the following Monday to be 5:15-6:15pm and 6:15-7:15pm.
