What an exciting weekend, as the extended season came to and end for 7 more of our athletes. Well done to all our guys who raced in StGeorge UTAH, Port Macquarie and Busselton.

IRONMAN STGEORGE , UTAH Sat 5 May 2012
Nick Sissons – swim 1:20.52, bike 6:21.45, run 4:51.22, overall 12:40.20
On what has been described as THE toughest StGeorge Ironman ever, this one will go down in history as it is also the last time Ironman will hold the event at StGeorge.
“Tough day at the office, 5ft swell in the water after a flat start, snapped front derailer cable housing, 50mph head wind for 55km climbing over 800metres! Taxed legs too much on the bike and paid for it on the run. But had a good day!”

IRONMAN AUSTRALIA, PORT MAC QUARIE Sund 6 May 2012
Jono Cahill – swim 59:00, bike 5:31.38, run 3:31.08, overall 10:06.16
A great all round race and finishing 5th in his age group we knew it was going to come down to the wire in getting a spot to Kona. Quick calculations we thought there would be 4-5 spots in Jono’s age group, however at roll down he found out on 3 were offered and 1 rolled down, so he ended up missing by only 1 spot. This will only make him even more determined.
Peter Hinrichsen – swim 1:11.40, bike 6:03.33, run 4:00.07, overall 11:23.19
Had a great day all round finishing with a very solid 4hr flat marathon. Top work Peter!
Rob Scapin – swim 1:13.31, bike 5:58.35, run 4:10.23, overall 11:30.29
A solid race all round to finally get to complete his first Irnoman, Great effort Rob, a very emotional one for you.
Mark Jenkins – swim 1:20.09, bike 6:32.39, run 4:51.42, overall 13:00.52
What a journey he had to get to this point, stuck to the game plan and now is an Ironman. Mark you are a true inspiration.
“What an experience – it was everything I imagnied and more. The surpreme test of physical and mental endurance played out in an environment of great comraderie, fantastic supporter encouragement and the odd bit of pain (well, more than a bit but who cares now?!) ” ” We speak about ‘the journey’ and in that context so many people have contributed to my experiences. The Coaches at TA led by Ollie, Sarah and Emma showd me the way and taught me to believe in myself. The athletes of TA have been a source of ongoing inspiration, encouragement and fun!” “And now after 12 months, I have only two things left to say. One is that I will be forever greatful for your love, friendship and support. The other… I AM AN IRONMAN!!!”

BUSSELTON HALF IRONMAN Sat 5 May 2012
On what has been toughted as a ‘rough and dirty’ swim for Buso standards, a great fast bike course and a hot dry run, our boys finished off their races strong.
Dax Stanley
– swim 37:35, bike 2:26.42, run 5:03.42, overall 5:03.42
Backing up after a great performance at ironman Melbourne, he managed to pick up a spot to Vegas Half Ironman World Championships at roll down. Now to get a spot for Kona in 4 weeks time to join Ollie in the double.
Lucas Riley – swim 42.06, bike 2:37.33, run 2:02.13, overall 5:28.18
A consistant race all round for his first Half Ironman. A great chance to experience the course in preparation of doing it twice over in December in the Full Ironman. Rest up well Luc, and we’ll see you at training in a few weeks.
