WORD FROM THE COACHES
Big weekend of training for athletes as the pointy end of their program starts to take hold. Those doing Sandringham or Geelong Olympic Distance races should be just about at their peak. With Sandy Olympic athletes having a final peak week this week and Geelong two more weeks before their final taper into the race. If you are unsure what or if you should race at Sandy if Geelong is your A race then please call the office to discuss with a Coach.

Those hitting Geelong for the Long Course are also smashing some great sessions, with this weekend being the peak training. So make sure you get out on Aus Day weekend and make the most of the last peak weekend.

Our athletes aiming for Ironman Melbourne are really starting to take shape now. Our Coaches are super pleased on how athletes are building. Again if you have any concerns chat to a coach NOW. Don’t leave it until it is too late. 7 weeks of build training left.

Our beginner Try the Tri groups are also in full flight. With close to 40 new triathletes under the guidance of our Head Coach of Beginners Bernadette. We look forward to seeing them race at Sandringham and the Nissan Corporate Tri in 2-3 weeks.

Reminder that this weeks timetable runs on our ‘recovery week’ training timetable so make sure you know which sessions are on and when. If you are not in a recovery week based on your racing, or have additional sessions programmed – you can simply complete the sessions from your own venue/location.

IRONMAN MELBOURNE – SEARCHING FOR VOLUNTEERS!

After the huge success of our ‘Aid Stations’ at Ironman Melbourne last year, we are again putting a call out for athletes, friends, family who would like to volunteer some of their time to help man a Tri Alliance Aid Station on the Run Course of Ironman Melbourne. With around 50-60 Tri Alliance athletes competing in Ironman Melbourne, it’s going to be a huge event again for Tri Alliance and so we are looking for your support!
What we need!
Around 80 athletes/friends/family who can spare 2-4 hours on Sunday 24 March (Ironman Melbourne Race Day) to assist on one of two aid stations, handing out drinks and food and generally providing support to athletes as they run past.
We are also in search of two people who would be willing to help us with the organisation of the volunteers. You don’t need any experience – just some good organisation skills! Email [email protected] if you would like to volunteer OR be an Volunteer Organiser! Thanks, Sarah
