WORD FROM THE COACHES
With Week #1 down for the 2012/2013 Training Season, it was great to see good numbers at sessions. If you missed starting your training last week,then don’t delay any longer – week 2 has already started! Here are some dates to keep you in check:

5 Weeks until Winter Season Camp, Lorne
10 Weeks until Run Melbourne
18 Weeks until Half Ironman World Championships, Las Vegas
22 Weeks until Genovese Kinglake Ride
23 Weeks until Melbuorne Marathon
23 Weeks until Ironman Worl Championships, Hawaii
26 Weeks until Noosa Multi-Sports Festival
28 Weekls until Shepparton Half Ironman
31 Weeks until Busselton Ironman
(the list could go on!)

So make sure you are starting back your base technique training now for your best results come race day! 🙂

Last week we had 40 athletes start a 5 week run technique program with Level 5 Track and Field Coach Tony Benson. This is a fantastic add on to our current run program and these athletes will gain valuable knowledge from one of the best run technicians in the industry. We also have a number of our coaches going through thr program who will also be abel to impart this knowledge onto others.

Last Thursday was our first monthly dinenr for the year and we had good numbers at the Palmerston in South Melbourne. As the name suggests – the palma’s were a popular option! Next month dinner is planned for Thursday 7 June. Venue to be confirmed.

This week is party time!! Our Annual End of Season Presentation Night kicks off at 6.30pm in Ormond Hall at the Belgium Beef Cafe. We have 136 athletes, friends and family who are coming along and will have a fantastic night. If you missed out on purchasing a ticket please email [email protected]  asap.

IMPORTANT TIME TRIAL INFORMATION
Next week is time trials – our first for the 2012/2013 season. All athletes will receive an email this week detailing Time Trial information for NEXT WEEK. SO PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ THIS. Athletes who turn up to the wrong sessions will not be able to participate. So it is important you are aware which sessions you should attend next week.

ATHLETE RACE RESULTS
What an exciting weekend, as the extended season came to and end for 7 more of our athletes. Well done to all our guys who raced in StGeorge UTAH, Port Macquarie and Busselton on the weekend. Some great results in VERY tough conditions for some.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Chris Smith and his wife Natallia on the safe arrival of their little baby boy Hudson Alexander Smith, born Sunday 6 May 9.53pm weighing 3.4kg. Can’t wait to meet the new additon to the family! Congratulations to you both from all at Tri Alliance.

We also finally welcome into the world a little (well maybe not so little!) baby girl Carys Rose Fountain. Born Monday 7 Mat at 3.30pm weighing 4.4kgs. A big congrats to Lynne and Kev on her long but safe arrival. We wish you well in settling into family life and all the best in your recovery Lynne. From all at Team Tri Alliance.

GENOVESE KINGLAKE RIDE
Entries have opened for the Annual Genovese Kinglake Ride – being held on Sat 6 Oct 2012. Forgetting last years horrific weather conditions, this is a brilliant ride and a well run event and Tri Alliance will again be supporting this great ride.
We are currently confirming a special arrangement for Tri Alliance athletes so if you are planning on entering, wait a week or two and you may be able to save yourself some $$. Stay tuned!

IMPORTANT RIDE DETAILS FOR THIS WEEKEND

Our first long endurance ride for the year started last weekend and we had huge numbers, with nearly 50 athletes turning up for a ride along Beach Road. As with all our training to begin with, the long rides are moderatly paced to start your base conditioning. END OF SEASON PRESENTATION NIGHT IS ALMOST UPON US!
The night of nights on the Tri Alliance Social Calendar is almost here. And what a night we have planned! With awards, presentations, prizes, celebrations, entertainment, flowing drinks, great food and even better company – you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on Saturday Night! WINTER SEASON TRAINING CAMP – LORNE

The first (and biggest!) of our training camps for the year. Queens Birthday Weekend marks our first triathlon training camp for the 2012/2013 Triathlon Season. This Annual Training Camp held in Lorne is centred on kick starting your training for the 2012/2013 Triathlon Season, while having fun and learning from experienced coaches and other athletes.
This camp caters for all abilities and fitness levels – so if you want to give your winter training a boost and want to challenge your mind and body then this camp is for you! This year we will again have a jam packed camp full of training, guest speakers, workshops, giveaways and another fantastic Athlete Pack.
