Tri Alliance is proud to join the fight against cancer by joining forces with Smiling for Smiddy – a non profit organisation raising money for Cancer Research. Smiling for Smiddy was set up in memory of Queensland Age Group Triathlete Adam Smiddy who passed away from an aggressive form of Melanoma Cancer in 2006 at just 26 years of age. Smiling for Smiddy encourages participants to raise money on the journey to their next triathlon or multi-sports goal and as an added benefit they help cover your Coaching Fees. How YOU can be a part of the fight against Cancer
TRAIN – FUNDRAISE – RACE
Tri Alliance is challenging its athletes to train and race for more than a personal best. We’ve set a goal to raise $100,000 (VIC, QLD and WA) for cancer research over the triathlon season ahead, culminating at the 2013 Noosa Triathlon (3 November 2014). Tri Alliance athletes who sign on to fundraise with Smiling for Smiddy will be exempt from monthly squad fees* for up to four months.
All you have to do is fundraise a set amount based on the length of your training:
* Two months free squad training – raise $900
* Three months free squad training – raise $1350
* Four months free squad training – raise $2000
The funds you raise will support some of Australia’s leading cancer research centres as they undertake potentially life-saving research into the causes, prevention and improved treatments of cancer.
